Description
This law states that the transmittance (T) of light though a sample is given by: T = e-εbc, where ε is the molar extinction coefficient, b is the pathlength of the light through the cuvette (in mm) and c is the concentration of the pigment in the sample (in mM). Transforming this equation, it can be seen that the absorbance of light (A) is simply given by A = εbc.
